Room With a View

Our apartment on the ninth floor has huge windows in the living room.  They are nearly floor to ceiling windows and just next to them is a sliding door that leads to our little balcony.  It looks out to the water and you can see the city lights of Tuen Mun and lush green hills behind it.  When we first moved in it was strange being up so high.  But the view was astounding and we commented on it often.  We would watch the sunsets, painted all sorts of colors from those windows.  We would watch boats and barges float past and wonder who and what they were carrying and where they might be going.  But just like a lot of things after a while you get used to it and don’t think as much about it.

Recently a new friend came over and she just couldn’t get over the view that we have.  She said, “I don’t think I’d get anything done if I lived here.  I would sit and look at the water all day and never get anything done.”  Her comment reminded me again of the incredible view that we have.  There is no backyard off that sliding glass door but it is definitely a room with a view….a pretty amazing view!  Below are some pictures that were taken from our balcony at different times through out the past year and a half.IMG_7262 IMG_7263

  1. I’m so anxious to see this apartment that you have been in for most of your time in HK. The view is truly a unique aspect of your apartment living – something that I’m sure will never be duplicated. You have been blessed and it’s wonderful the way you and Abe find all the best aspects of every situation.
    Love you!
